No pressure on me – Malinga

Stand-in skipper Lasith Malinga says there is no extra pressure on his team to perform in the 4th ODI against India at the R. Premadasa stadium today. Malinga takes over after captain of the 3rd ODI, Chamara Kapugedara, after pulling up with injury.

“There is no pressure on me. I have bowled under greater pressure than this. The players are ready and we’re hoping for a winning result”, he said.

He also said that leading the national team was a challenge and he welcomed the challenge. “We lost three games in a row in this series. We have to pull together and do something special,” he added.

When asked about his plans for retirement, he said he wanted to play till at least 2020.
